Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning's End

Ta Ta 2009. HELLLOOOO 2010. WOW! The possibilities! So many things to see and do. Worlds to conquer and relationships to build. So many memories left back in 2009 that will be cherished and times that will be greatly missed but so much energy geared towards the new of 2010 with all of the possibilities to be had.

I reflect on 2009 and it was definitely my best year yet.
I got to start a new stage in my relationship with Matt. Planning a wedding has been a blast.
I received my diploma and graduated from Berkeley.
I learned the fantastic news of my sister's pregnancy with her soon to be daughter Stella!
Saved my kitty Olive who is now my cuddle buddy in my bat cave.
My dad saved his life by changing his lifestyle and survived heart surgery.
My mom joined him a short while after and is enjoying her new lifestyle. YOU GO MAMA!
I spent Christmas in Paris which was one of the most Spectacular trips I have ever been on.
I got my first job of playing professional volleyball. So fortunate in these economic times.
I have been introduced to a fantastic group of girls who are my teammates.
I accomplished my dream of getting a modeling contract with LA Models!! Woohooo
I have gotten to travel to places like Greece, Germany, and Egypt for volleyball. I am so grateful for these opportunities which I would otherwise not have.

And the list continues but I am sure you want to hear more about my crazy ideas and dreams for 2010!

2010 is my year for dreaming.
My brother will finally graduate which will probably result in some kind of drunken debauchery down Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley (you better believe I will post pictures of this).
I will become Auntie Morgan! Woohoo!
I AM GETTING MARRIED! An even bigger Woohoo!!
Not to mention Matt and I will be attending NINE other weddings this summer.
Potentially buy a house!
Then I am going to let Camilla pimp my pad.
Somehow smuggle my kitty Olive back into the US of A
Help Matt create a successful online business.
Learn how to dance! (Salsa, ballroom, hip hop) If you have seen my current moves you will highly encourage and possibly fund these classes.
Mom I love you but I definitely got your dancing genes.
Take up piano lessons. Watch out Beethoven!
Go Sky Diving
And then get deported again to some foreign land to play the sport I love. Darn :)

I am always so good at making my list of New Years Resolutions but ask me how good I am at sticking to them......HA! I last about a week. So with that said...here is the challenge. It's called the Power of Less.

Step 1: Commit publicly to family and friends.

My List
  1. Never go to bed unhappy or angry with anyone.
  2. Be quick to forgive.
  3. Do something nice for someone every day. And then be a witch the rest of the day :) haha just kidding
  4. Do something nice for myself every day. Don't forget to LOVE me.
  5. Drop 15 pounds (so typical but damn would that feel good to accomplish!)
  6. Dream BIG and go after the impossible. - "Hard things take a long time to accomplish. Impossible things just take a little bit longer."
  7. Don't stress about my Wedding. Only worry about what I have control over and let the uncontrollable factors go (even in life)
  8. Keep in better contact with my friends when I am abroad.
I am sure the list will keep growing and growing. But now it is time for baby steps.

Lets make this year MAGICAL!

Tick Tock

The time passes so slowly as I wait for April to come. My days consist of laying in bed and watching television shows (most of the time I just watch the little circle go round and round waiting for the show to load), taking occasional naps, and walking to the store 100 feet from my house for a candy bar.

Searching for a candy bar in a different language that looks appealing and trying to figure out if there are raisins or other foreign objects that are not to my liking tends to be the highlight and most intellectually challenging part of my day. Most of the time I try not to leave my bat cave. Unfortunately this has seriously affected my bronze.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I also have two hours of volleyball a day around 7 every night.

This seems ideal to most but I am on the brink of going nuts. This kind of boredom forces you to do something unthinkable...like blogging!

This Is Me

So I have not gotten a chance to properly introduce myself. My name is Morgan Elizabeth Beck and I stand with my head in the clouds. No Seriously...I am a 6'2'' woman; and when I say woman I don't mean a skinny, frail depiction of society's ideal female. I mean a woman with substance and curves. A woman who loves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A woman with muscle and athleticism. Can I get an Amen. Haha. Clearly I don't take myself too seriously.

I graduated from UC Berkeley which, at the time, was four of the most miserable years of my life. I now miss the place and I cannot wait to go back and visit in May for my brother's graduation. Not to mention I will get to see my love Camilla (who, by the way, has an amazing blog. You should check it out here)

I play volleyball professionally with my soulmate Matthew Proper (who also has an amazing blog which you should check out here). Not a bad profession right? We have been deported to the land before time and are playing in Cyprus which is a small island off of Greece full of dirt and cars going down the wrong side of the road. Matt and I will return to the Land of the Free in late April and then get married in July!! Woohooo!

*Please be patient. I will learn the ways of this blogger nonsense and eventually make my site easier on the eyes and include some pictures.

Miss Morgan

My name is Morgan and I like to think I am a simple person but truly I am as complicated as they come. I would love it if my fiance could read my mind, I can never decide what I want to eat, I complain about things I don't like but then I don't do anything about it. But that is only one side of me. I also love to go with the flow. I love to solve problems and help others. However there really is no telling which side of me will wake up each morning. Get the picture?

I always tend to make people a little angry because I march to the beat of my own drum and I am often a bit careless when it comes to other people's opinions regarding me.

This may explain as to why so many people have such a false perception of me. People view me as bitchy, stuck up, and just not very nice. They see a wild child who loves to party and is a total flirt. Truth is, I am probably one of the most loyal, kind, generous, home bodies you will ever meet. I guard myself from those people in the world who are fake and live their lives to be accepted by society. I live mine to find my soulmates and to experience life with people who make me stronger, smarter, and happier.

I believe life is way too short to just be friends with everyone and waste your time being friends with people who are rude and would stab you in the back to benefit themselves. Why? It just doesn't make sense to me. Don't get me wrong. I do believe you must always be nice to people and take the higher road regardless of their malignant energy but don't waste your time building a friendship with these people.

Anyways....blogging is complicated. There are so many things to write and so many things that go through my brain (most that should probably not be put on here but knowing me I will put it on here)
