Our kitchen always smells good.
I mean ALWAYS!
Either from the chicken and veggies that Kristen is always cooking or Diane going on her freak cleaning sprees, the aromas are always pleasant (minus this one day with potatoes but that story is for a different time).
Luckily we are all food fanatics and love to try new things.
Our latest and greatest in this kitchen of ours is our cookie dough dip.  But here's the catch, there is no flour or sugar or butter in our recipe.  The base is actually chickpeas!!!
Give it a try.

2 cans chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup chocolate chips

*We usually add extra vanilla, salt, and chocolate chips to add a bit more flavor

Blend all ingredients (except the chocolate chips) together in blender then mix in chocolate chips.
*Tastes better after chilling for a few hours

Throw this dip on some graham crackers and thank me later.

Right across the street from my place there sits a Krispy Kreme, tall and decorated in it's white and green and it tortures me with this stupid little light that comes on when the conveyer belt inside is loaded with fresh, warm doughnuts.  It broadcasts the news with the letters
H.O.T.
brightly lit in red hoping to have the same effect on humans as the mosquito lamps have on poor passerby bugs who become mesmerized by the bright light and before they know it......you know how the story ends.  This "HOT" light shines so bright that our kitchen glows in a deep red when the little trolls inside this building turn it on and slowly we sit in the window and watch the line grow out the drive-through lane, around the corner through the parking lot and out onto the main road.  Each car pulls in adding more and more length to this line of heart failure and diabetes.
I often times see the red light come on and find myself floating towards my keys and out the door, down the elevator until I realize what i'm doing.
I admit that I have fallen victim 3 times but for me, being a sugar fanatic, 3 times is a victory in my book.....even if I got 1 dozen every time.
But who's counting?

There is never a dull moment in Puerto Rico.
Don't get me wrong, I love this place and the weather is gorgeous and the food is delicious and super fattening and makes me OH so happy, but that doesn't make up for the amount of drama that goes on in this tiny little island.  From car accidents, to shootings, to people fighting or cat calling like they are out of some X-rated movie.  I don't know who told men that "Ohhh Baby, F*%& Me" would get them a conversation or a phone number but i'm pretty darn close to giving one of them an elbow to the teeth.
Oh, not to mention one of the many recent stories: due to a disagreement between two parties (one affiliated with my team and the other being and outside party) someone snuck into my complex (it's gated so they pulled some James Bond shit) stole the license plate from my car (you can't drive a car without plates or tags here or your ass goes to jail) 10 minutes before I had to leave for my match and left a note on my window telling me to call them.  And did I mention that the car wasn't starting either?  So, after ranting and raving and pacing all around the parking lot as i'm listening to this person try to explain and justify this nonsense, I finally (with much encouragement from my mother) jumpstart the car and drive it anyways.
Luckily I play a sport where it's easy to take out aggression, so banging the ball around that court felt awesome.......until we lost.
WAHHHH WAHHHH

Adventures and stories....

Dear Rain,

I know....
you make the flowers grow the and hills green
you wash my car for free
you make the air smell sweet and clean
you create colorful rainbows

But come on!!!
I enjoy you every once in awhile.  Not every freakin' day!

Go Away!
